Chongqing Harbour

This picture was taken from our cruise ship,
MV Emperor. On the way to our ship, we drove
through areas of old china where the less fortunate people live. This area is soon to be destroyed and replaced by the developers and
high rise apartments. Here are three, still
under construction. When our bus reached the cruise ship terminal, we had to wade through swarms of stick people who wanted to carry our luggage, or even help us down the stairs to the gangplanks that took us to our ship. It was the only time that I felt uneasy during the trip to China. These people were desparate for any type of employment. The question for me was, "Where will these people find a place to live that they will be able to afford?"
